NewThing Network Hires Director

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Oct. 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Patrick O’Connell has been named director of the NewThing Network, a church planting organization whose mission is “to be a catalyst for a movement of reproducing churches relentlessly dedicated to helping people find their way back to God.”  O’Connell assumed the role August 1, 2013, relocating to Illinois from Kansas City, where he served as a pastor at Restore Community Church, itself a product of the NewThing Network.

“Over the last year, NewThing has been praying and looking for the right person to lead the church planting network into an exciting and opportune future,” says NewThing founder and Community Christian Church Lead Pastor Dave Ferguson. “When Patrick first showed up [at Community], he was very skeptical and far from God. Over time, he found his way back to God and soon after started his trek on the leadership path, from being a small group apprentice leader to quitting his job in wealth management and moving to Kansas City to plant a church, to eventually coaching other church planters.  Patrick is obsessed with Jesus, His mission and movement making. He is NewThing!”

As NewThing Director, Patrick will lead the organization’s charge to plant new churches across the country and around the world.  NewThing equips, trains and apprentices leaders and provides materials and resources to prepare newly planted churches for success.
