Charlotte Health Insurance: Listen Up, 20-Somethings

Oct. 1, 2013 - PRLog -- I graduated from college nearly two years ago, and after years of living under the umbrella of my parents’ finances, I was abandoned to face the real world…alone.

Okay, fine.  Maybe that’s a little dramatic.  I was fortunate enough to find a job that supported my decision to be independent and to live in my own apartment in Charlotte.  I now pay for my own rent, my own groceries, and, much to the relief of my parents, my own clothes (I’m a chronic online shopper).  The only setback?  Insurance.

For years, I’d been on my parents’ insurance plan, but as they began to move between companies, they suggested that perhaps I consider purchasing my own.

What?  I thought.  Me?  Purchase my own insurance?

‘Budgeting’ has never been a strong suit of mine, so my initial concern was How ever will I ever afford everything?  I’m embarrassed to admit that I almost considered bypassing Charlotte health insurance altogether.
