Lions Clubs of Texas sponsors youth concert with award-winning CTS Band October 19

DALLAS - Oct. 1, 2013 - PRLog -- The Coppell and Plano Evening Lions Clubs are sponsoring the first Kids Helping Kids concert on October 19, at the Plano Centre at 6 p.m. The high-energy concert will feature the C.T.S. band performing their award-winning original music with the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts Orchestra, under the direction of David Large. The show will also feature a guest performance by BTW alumnae and trumpet player, Jack Rowland, who has performed with Bob Hope, Burl Ives, Minnie Pearl, Jim Nabors and many others.

C.T.S. wrote and recorded "You Won't Be Forgotten (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQBQmQL34DI),” named "Song of the Year" by the Military Writer's Guild for honoring military veterans. The band also penned “Snowball Express,” the official song of Dallas-based Snowball Express, a non-profit dedicated to helping families of fallen military heroes.



“The Booker T. Washington orchestra is one of the top high school orchestras in the country. We can’t wait to play with such talented musicians,” said Jeff Senour, CTS founder and singer.

Since its inception, the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts has produced 18 presidential scholars and earned over 190 DeeBee awards from Downbeat Magazine (http://www.downbeat.com/).

“We created our C.T.S. Freedom Rock Series to provide a high-profile fundraising platform that celebrates the talent of high school musicians, while benefiting the community. Its very gratifying this show will benefit the wonderful work done by the Lions Clubs of Texas,” added Senour.

The Texas Lions Camp is designed to introduce the “Can Do” philosophy to children dealing with special medical conditions. The 500+ acre camp features a 400 bed residential camping facility in Kerrville, Texas.

Jeff Senour founded CTS in 2002. Senour wrote and recorded "You Won't Be Forgotten (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQBQmQL34DI),” named "Song of the Year" by the Military Writer's Guild for honoring America’s veterans. Senour also wrote “Snowball Express,” the official song of the Snowball Express non-profit organization, dedicated to supporting the families of fallen military heroes. Texas Lions Club Children’s Camp Background

The Texas Lions Camp was opened in 1949 with the mission of providing a free summer camp for children with physical disabilities, including hearing/vision impairments, Type-1 diabetes and cancer. It is designed to introduce the “Can Do” philosophy to children dealing with special medical conditions.
