By: Many Rivers Community Acupuncture Many Rivers will also kick off their Autumn Food Drive on October 18. They will be collecting non-perishable food items from October 18 through October 25 to support the Windsor Food Bank. Canned goods, pasta, pasta sauce, and meal makers (Hamburger Helper, Knorr soup mixes, etc.) are especially appreciated. In addition, Many Rivers will donate 5% of their profits from the week to the Food Bank. “We are proud to conduct our 3rd annual Food Drive for the Windsor Food Bank,” says Many Rivers owner and acupuncturist Carrie Sawtell, L.Ac. “It is our goal to promote the health of our community in as many ways as possible: from reducing pain with acupuncture to reducing hunger through community food drives.” Many Rivers collected over 65 pounds of food at their first Food Drive in 2011. Their goal is to collect 100 pounds of food this year. Many Rivers is part of the community acupuncture movement, which is working to make health care affordable and accessible. Acupuncture treatments are provided on a sliding scale, from $15 - $35 per treatment (plus a one-time new patient paperwork fee of $10). Their highly-trained acupuncturists treat a multitude of health problems, including pain, arthritis, anxiety, insomnia, depression, digestive disorders, seasonal allergies and gynecological complaints. Many Rivers is open Monday through Friday, with evening appointments available until 7:00 pm Monday through Thursday. The clinic is located at 44 Bloomfield Avenue in Windsor center.
