One might be tempted to think that in such a tiny country, deliciously located in the Caribbean, it would be impossible to have internal upheaval and stress. Sadly even here, conflicts can arise but the good news is that it is often truly a tempest in a teapot, and rarely affects day to day life. Politically, this has been a rather stagnant year to date, with a lot of posturing by both the elected government and the British overseers. The anti corruption legal proceedings drag along tediously, the crown land recovery work is in its final stages, but there is yet no overall sense of a task well done. The many proposals for various taxes to help stabilize the national budget has led to a Blue Ribbon Commission in place to offer a comprehensive solution. The extraordinary burden of the badly planned health care system is the elephant in the room no one wishes to see, although both financial and clinical audits are underway. The local politicians waver on policy issues, seeking a way forward without much decisive or incisive clarity. This situation, while perhaps frustrating to many, basically means life goes on here in TCI with no significant changes or difficulties. And the delicious location here in the Caribbean remains delightful!
Notably, the security of investment in TCI remains strong and property investment offers some exceptional opportunities. Several very major development projects are cleared to begin in 2014 including a luxury condo resort on Providenciales south shore, hotel and residential complex on West Caicos and European style hotel on Grace Bay. These projects signal the steady confidence in TCI as a high end Caribbean destination, which continues to attract wealthy buyers seeking gorgeous turquoise seas and sparkling white sand beaches. The range of property for sale in TCI across all the islands is quite rich and varied, with prices sensible and steady. And truly, each island is gaining more distinctive identity, making the range of potential investment opportunities much more interesting across the country. With many direct flights from USA & Canada it is now so easy to reach the islands quickly and conveniently-

NORTH CAICOS : The sleeping giant of TCI is slowly awakening and the purchase of the St Charles resort on Bottle Creek is almost complete! This development becoming active will radically change the dynamics of the island and the time to secure your piece of the North Caicos pie is definitely now. The excellent ferry services available (two landing ports- nine daily passenger boats) make arriving to North Caicos simple and convenient, and the warm welcome of the islanders is a pleasure every time. Huge strides forward in agriculture continue, with locally grown fresh fruits, vegetables, eggs and meat a staple of our diets. Vast tracts of North Caicos remain green and open, with opportunities in each village for commercial development or residential homes.
MIDDLE CAICOS : Middle Caicos now boasts a completely rejuvenated causeway, making access smooth and easy across the channel! It is only 30 minutes from Sandy Point ferry to Conch Bar village, a gentle and beautiful ride into the calm wilderness of this island. Residents now total only about 230 people in last census, so if you want quiet and tranquility, this island is for you. The lack of amenities is very real, balanced by the natural splendor. Prices for beachfront have never been better, village lots are truly a steal...so look closely at the opportunities. Middle Caicos is for the intrepid, with small scale ecotourism development soon to begin : kite-boarding, cultural activities, hiking, kayaking, caving and more. With very distinct regions, the island offers cliffs and crashing sea, curving beachfront miles, and interior ridges with caressing breeze.Visit our website www.forbesrealtytci.com for more information on both North and Middle Caicos, and to explore the listings.
