RALEIGH, N.C. - Sept. 30, 2013 - PRLog -- Raleigh, N.C. -  The 48th Annual Parade of Homes, N.C.’s largest open house presented by the Home Builders Association of Raleigh–Wake County, will run October 5-6, 11-13, 18-20, from 12-5 p.m. The tour of new homes that takes place mainly throughout Wake County will feature 190 homes.

“This year’s tour is representative of the new normal,” said Wes Carroll, president of Upright Builders and the 2013 Parade of Homes Committee Chair. “As the housing market rebounds from increasing confidence across the board, we are seeing a merge of the old normal with the new. This is reflected in the standard features that many builders now offer for energy efficiency and smart technology.”

The Parade of Homes is always a thorough representation of the current market and the latest trends. Builders have now added more standard features to meet the consumer demand for energy efficiency and smart technology.

The price points on this annual, free tour that is open to the public, range from $134,900 - $2.29 million. Eleven homes are listed at $1 million or higher. Three different charity homes are the highlights of this year’s tour.

The Craftsman by Stuart M. Jones Custom Homes, Inc.

Typically Stuart M. Jones Custom Homes, Inc. features a parade home where a portion of the proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity. However this Fall, they felt that the need for food was a higher priority for people still entrenched in the recession, so a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. The home listed at $769,834 is located at 210 Faircloth St. in Raleigh.

The James E, the Duke Miracle Home by Terramor Homes

This year, Terramor Homes was selected to build the 2014 Miracle Home and pledged to raise $120,000 for the cause. All revenue generated from the sale of the Miracle Home will go directly toward the Duke Children’s Hospital and Health Center. The Miracle Home is the single largest fundraiser for Duke Children’s Hospital and Health Center, and has raised over $15 million in the past 19 years.

On Saturday, Oct. 5 from noon to 4 p.m. at the 2014 Duke Children’s Hospital Miracle Home, located at 744 Magalloway Drive in the Cameron Pond community, Terramor Homes will host a “Family Fun Day.” During the “Family Fun Day,” on-air personalities, from the WRAL MIX Morning Show, Mike Chase and Lynda Loveland will broadcast live onsite that morning.
