MALCO organized Mega Cardiology Camp at Mettur

SALEM, India - Sept. 30, 2013 - PRLog -- The Madras Aluminium Company Ltd (MALCO) a unit of Vedanta Group has organized a mega cardiology camp at Mettur in association with Fortis Malar hospital Chennai. The primary objective of this camp was to provide quality treatment for the rural population suffering from heart diseases.

MALCO’s CSR endeavors focuses on education, health, infrastructure, livelihood and women empowerment for the benefit of nearby community. As a part of providing quality health care for the people residing nearby company, Malco run a clinic where people can get free medical service. Apart from that Malco conduct regular rural health camps in nearby villages.

On the occasion of World Cardiology day at September 29, 2013 (Sunday), Malco has organized a Mega Cardiology Camp in association with Fortis Malar Hospital, Chennai under our social initiatives. Totally 1078 people benefitted from this camp. The blood test, ECG, Echo are done to the beneficiaries who attended the camp. Free medicines and consultation were given to them.

The Mega Cardiology Camp was inaugurated by Dr Aneesh Sekhar IAS, Sub Collector - Mettur. In his speech “he was appreciated Malco social initiative for organizing the cardiology camp on the occasion of world cardiology day and he also stress the importance of life style modifications for preventing cardiac diseases. He also called for early diagnosis of cardiac diseases and stress to that prevention is better than cure”.

The function was presided over by Mr C Murugeswaran - Whole Time Director & Head Operations of Malco. In his speech “he explained the importance of cardiology camp organized by Malco and also he explained the various CSR activities done by Malco for the benefit of the nearby community based on their needs”

The Malco officials Mr P Kumar - Head Commercial & Power Sales, Mr. R.Kandasamy - Head HR, Dr G.Manoj Krishnan & Mr Jayaraman, Head Marketing - Fortis Malar Hospital, Chennai are gave the visited the camp and gave the awareness speech on cardiac diseases. The medical team of Fortis Malar Hospital Dr VK Samy, Dr Nagaraj, Dr Patturajan, Mr G.Meenakshisundaram and Mr Maharaja are rendered their services those who attended this camp with help of team of employees from Malco and NSS volunteers of Malco Vidyalaya
