The Health Law Firm Attorneys Presented Lecture to Medical Office Resources of Florida

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. - Sept. 30, 2013 - PRLog -- Attorneys with The Health Law Firm delivered a lecture to members of the Medical Office Resources of Florida (MOROF) and attending health care providers. The lecture took place on Thursday, September 26, 2013, at the Howard Johnson Plaza in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The topic focused on Medicare and Medicaid audits.

Attorneys Christopher E. Brown and Lance O. Leider spoke on the different organizations, such as Recovery Audit Contractors (RACs) and Zone Program Integrity Contractors (ZPICs), that routinely conduct Medicare audits. They also addressed specific actions or claims that can trigger a fraud investigation and how to properly respond to a Medicare or Medicaid audit. Last year Mr. Leider, in part, assisted a North Carolina Medicaid provider in reducing a $1.4 million overpayment demand made by the North Carolina Medicaid Program by more than 98%. Mr. Brown has represented numerous Medicare providers in ZPIC and RAC audits, as well as Medicaid providers in matters involving the Florida Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU).
