HiMSS NW Announces Speaker Line-up for their 3rd Annual Technology & Education Symposium

The NW Chapters of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HiMSS) today announced the speaker line-up for their 3rd annual technology & education symposium “Connected Communities of Care” Oct. 14th &15th, 2013 in Portland, OR.

Sept. 30, 2013 - PRLog -- Presenters will include Mark Frisse, MD, Accenture Professor, Biomedical Informatics, Vanderbilt University and Dan Dixon, Vice President, External Affairs, Swedish Health Services.

Brian Ahier, national health IT expert and Speaker Coordinator for HiMSS Oregon said, “Mark Frisse has vast experience in health data exchange and the IT components necessary to thrive in the new healthcare marketplace. He is a national leader at the intersection of healthcare transformation, economics, policy, and informatics. His keynote presentation at the HIMSS NW Technology and Education Symposium is one you will not want to miss."

“Over the next months as Obama Care, the Affordable Care Act, kicks-in in earnest, the healthcare workforce continues to rise to meet the demands of the new environment.   As this occurs there are many questions on how to apply best practices or fulfill compliance regulations.  This year’s conference brings us a range of topics presented by healthcare specialists to help us all deliver better healthcare.  We hope to see you there.” added Mark Fromuth, Healthcare Communications Consultant, AT&T Healthcare and HiMSS Oregon Chapter President

Finally, Jason Meaux, Manager at ECG Management Consultants, Inc. and HiMSS Washington Chapter President stated that "This year's speaker line-up should prove to be the best yet for the joint Technology & Education Symposium.  With a diverse set of timely topics ranging from big data to ICD-10 to ACOs, there should be something of interest to everyone who attends.  I just hope people are able to get their registration in before the conference sells out."

**This program is approved for 8.5 continuing education (CE) hours for use in fulfilling the continuing education requirements of the Certified Professional in Healthcare Information & Management Systems (CPHIMS) and the Certified Associate in Healthcare Information & Management Systems (CAHIMS). Continuing education credit forms will be provided at the conference.

In addition to a diverse speaker line-up and trade fair, HiMSS NW is delighted to bring back student presentations. “Come see what ideas the future generation of HIT is creating” said Scott Zacks, Workforce Development Chair for HiMSS Oregon.
