Follow on Google News | The Peace Reef Project Launches Kickstarter CampaignAims to be "World's Largest Underwater Living Reef in the Form of a Peace Sign"
By: Amplification, Inc. The Peace Reef will be 200 feet in diameter and will serve as a living peace sign. In addition to the stunning visual concept, the reef will create a marine life habitat and promote responsible marine management. Upon completion, the Peace Reef will be submitted to The Guinness Book of World Records as the “World’s Largest Underwater Living Reef in the Form of a Peace Sign.” The Peace Reef Project wants to create the World’s Only Living Peace Sign Reef as public art for the world to enjoy for hundreds of years. Wolfson intends to exhibit the Peace Reef through photography, videos, and a documentary upon completion. The project site is also visible from Google Earth for all to see. The project will be constructed from natural limestone rock and will serve as a model of how to cost-effectively rebuild natural reefs while maximizing the benefits to the environment using this natural approach. Almost immediately upon completing construction, life will immediately start colonizing and growing on the limestone. This includes algae and corals, providing a perfect habitat for marine life of all varieties. With Kickstarter user support (http://www.kickstarter.com/ “The Peace Reef Project aims to make a difference in the Florida community and the globe,” Wolfson says. “This project serves as a way for me personally to leave a mark on the Earth long after I am gone. I hope Kickstarter supporters can feel the same.” For more information, contact: Peter Wolfson, Aquaculturist at The Peace Reef Project Phone: 305-798-3898 E-mail: Peace@PeaceReef.com Kickstarter Website: http://www.kickstarter.com/ NOTE: All news organizations and online blogs have our permission to republish and reuse any photos, logo and video from the PeaceReef.com website providing PeaceReef.com is disclosed as the source.
