Community Christian Church Re-Launches in New Lincoln Square Location

CHICAGO - Sept. 27, 2013 - PRLog -- Community Christian Church will re-launch its Lincoln Square campus on October 20 at Gateway to Learning, 4925 N. Lincoln Avenue in Chicago.  The non-denominational Christian church extends an open invitation to the entire community to attend its grand re-opening celebration service on October 20 at 10:30 a.m.

“We are thrilled to have this new partnership with Gateway to Learning,” says Campus Pastor Tammy Melchien.  “Gateway’s building is the perfect place for us to hold our Sunday services and special events.  And we believe that we can combine our efforts in unique ways to benefit both of our missions.  Over the past month, we've joined forces to improve Gateway's physical space and prepare for our October 20th grand re-opening by installing awnings on the building that advertise Gateway to Learning and Dorothy's Can-Do-Cafe to the neighborhood; repainting the parking lot fence outside and the stage inside; clearing overgrown brush around the perimeter of the building; and renovating the entrance and courtyard.”

Melchien continues, “Since our initial launch in March 2011, our goal has been to be a church for our community.  We love to find ways to contribute to our neighborhood in meaningful ways.  Over this past year, we've organized an Easter Egg Hunt in Winnemac Park for over 125 people; sponsored pumpkin decorating in the Lincoln Square Chamber's annual Halloween Festival; contributed volunteers and donated items to help launch the Lincoln Square Friendship Center; sponsored refugee families in partnership with World Relief,  helping them make easier transitions to life in Chicago; and thrown monthly birthday parties at an Uptown homeless shelter so that every person is celebrated.”
