PROVINCETOWN, Mass. - Sept. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Larkin Gallery is pleased to announce the triumphant return to Provincetown of Edith Lake Wilkinson's long lost art including White Line Prints from the early 1920's. One of the earliest White Line Print makers along with Blanche Lazelle and other pioneers of the art form, Edith lived in Provincetown and NYC with her partner until Edith was sent to an asylum in 1924.

It was then that her work was shipped to her sole living relative, a nephew in Wheeling, West Virginia where the work remained hidden in a trunk in his attic until discovered a generation later. Finally, people in Provincetown will have the opportunity to see Edith's work for the first time since the 1920's. We have especially chosen Women's Week as the most auspicious time to celebrate Edith's return and invite everyone to join us for this amazing revelation and happy conclusion to a not so happy story.

The Opening Reception will be held at Larkin Gallery, 405 Commercial Street, Provincetown on Friday, October 11 at 7pm. On Saturday, October 12, Writer, Producer, Director, Emmy Award Winner Jane Anderson,  Edith’s great niece whose dream of returning Edith’s work home to Provincetown has spanned many years, will share Edith’s story and the history behind the exhibit in a talk at the gallery.  The exhibit will run until October 27.
