Man Runs 132 Miles For the Ronald McDonald House

FRESNO, Calif. - Sept. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Fresno, Ca, September 26, 2013— On November 16^th David Thull and a small group of supporters will take off from the Bakersfield Ronald McDonald House and run the 132 miles to the Central Valley location. David has long since been a supporter of the charity. In 2011 he ran the entirety of the 24 hours before his wedding to raise funds for the charity and surprise his bride with the donation during their wedding reception the next day. He raised over $2,500 that day.

He’s at it again this year! With hopes to raise $10,000 for the Ronald McDonald Houses (split between the two). David knows the 132 miles will be a tough fete as his longest run ever completed was 100 miles. “I know I can do this with the support of the community! “Thankfully, neither of my kids have had to be treated at the hospital and I haven’t needed the Ronald McDonald House, but I’ve known and met many families that have. I’ve seen families come back to the house after a long day at the hospital to be so comforted by this place. Whether its money, a food donation, volunteer hours, or sharing this event. We can all do something to support RMHC. Running is my way of helping,” said David.

This Saturday the group is planning a FREE showing of “Unbreakable: The Western States 100” a running inspired movie, at Sierra Vista 16 Theater in Clovis. Donations for the charity will be accepted at the door starting at 10am. The group is hoping members of the community will come share a movie and learn about the race on the 16^th!
