Follow on Google News | Berlin student receives Umberto Student Award for her work on environmental impactsThe Hamburg Institute for Environmental IT awards the Umberto Student Award for outstanding student achievements in the field of materials and energy management.
By: ifu Hamburg GmbH Svetlana Aksinyuk (Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin) garnered first place with her work on “Environmental impacts of regenerative energies using the example of solar energy”. Additional awards went to Andrés Almanze Ramírez from Mexico (Universidad Autónoma Luis Potosi) as well as to Ramona Lehmann and Thomas Hafermalz (Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin). The Institute for Environmental IT received 23 submissions this year, all of them demonstrating extremely sophisticated technique. The authors of the three best submissions were invited to the award ceremony in Essen, where the young scientists had a chance to present their work to an international professional audience at the 18th Umberto User Workshop. “Every year, I am curious to find out what topics the students’ work will cover,” Jan Hedemann, CEO of ifu Hamburg GmbH, said at the awards ceremony. “It is amazing to see the diversity in topics and the differences in the depth of their scientific research. This year I am especially pleased by the high quality and professionalism apparent throughout the submitted projects.” End
