(Atlanta, Georgia)… Atlanta-based hip hop producer and artist Poka Jones is certainly living up to the lyrics of his hit single Counting All My Blessings and now, as he celebrates his birthday during BET Awards Weekend, he’s about to bless a few fellow artists with the opportunity to have their music seen and heard by some major industry names. With Playboy as a the key sponsor and joined by Hood Rep and King Roozie, Poka is starting off the festivities on Thursday, September 26 at 291 with Campbellton TV Show’s Lady Redd and special guest Anthony Johnson of the Pittsburg Steelers. In addition to being interviewed, artists will also have the opportunity to drop one of their songs for a vast audience. The main event however, occurs on Friday, September 27 at Atlanta’s Connect Lounge with host Vamp of YMCMB Cash Money. Here, artists will hit the stage and Poka himself will perform. Saturday, Poka performs at Woodruff Park for the 3rd Annual Hip Hop Day and wraps things up on Sunday at O’Riley’s Bar and Grill. “There are a lot of established artists looking for the next big thing but the problem is so many of the talented people out there don’t have the opportunity to get to the next level because no one is willing to share their network or collaborate,” What initially started off as a simple showcase for just a few friends, is now Atlanta’s only BET Awards Weekend event to feature local and international artists, some flying in from The Bahamas, Jamaica and Antigua, Washington, Oregon, North Carolina and more. The growing roster so far includes Beezy Boo, Da Big Dime, Just Guttah, Prano the Don, Kenne Blessin, David N Goliath, O’Zok, Spung, King Lil One and 2TWEN2TY. “With so many big names and industry executives in Atlanta for BET Awards Weekend, the artists who have signed on are going to benefit with the exposure and networking opportunities alone,” said Poka. “Sure it’s about having fun but it’s also about doing business and putting in the work behind it. It’s also about making an investment in yourself to get to the next level and I must say, everyone who expressed the desire to take part in this four-day event has proven that they are ready.” For more information call 404-451-0096. http://www.Facebook.com/ http://www.Instagram.com/ http://www.Twitter.com/ End
