Manufacturing Day is a coordinated occasion during which U.S. manufacturers open their doors to demonstrate the potential of modern manufacturing and foster interest in manufacturing careers. Manufacturing Day is meant for anyone who is curious about modern manufacturing. This includes students, parents, educators, media, civic leaders, and local communities in general.
This year’s event will feature interactive displays from local robotics and material manufacturers, facility tours, and several resources for individuals curious about careers in manufacturing. Everything from explosive weapons detectors to fast fermenting brewing beads will be on display.
Attendees will be able learn about the process of starting a business, growth opportunities in the Treasure Valley, and ways existing companies ignite innovation. All attendees are welcome to tour theTECenter (http://tecaccelerator.com/
Speakers include, Denise Dunlap, Director of the Idaho TECenter, Susan Calvin from aircraft lighting manufacturer AreoLEDs, Marty Artis from ventilation manufacturer Fresh Air Manufacturing Company (FAMCO), and TechHelp Director Steve Hatten. Additionally, the Idaho Spirit of Continuous Innovation Award will be presented to Marty Artis, President of FAMCO.
Over 500 National Manufacturing Day events have been scheduled throughout the country. Through this collective effort, Manufacturing Day will draw public attention to work opportunities in manufacturing and encourage job seekers so develop the skills they need to qualify for long-term careers in this secure and growing sector of the economy.
Food and drinks will be served beginning at 11am. The formal presentation begins at 11:30am.
