Putting the “Wow” in Westie Walk 2013

Westie Rescue of North Texas (WRNT) today announced it will host Westie Walk 2013 on Saturday, October 12 at Mary Heads Carter Park at 2320 Heads Lane, Carrollton, Texas.  This event provides an opportunity for all Westie lovers, and those who support rescue organizations to meet, reconnect with friends, and raise money to support WRNT’s rescue efforts.  The cost is $10 per pup, with a 10% discount for registering online by October 4.  All breeds are invited!

Participants will start the day getting their pictures taken on the “WRNT red carpet” by professional photographer Kirstie Wixom.  The Walk will be led by Brandon Moreno playing the bagpipe.  Other events include the Amphibian Stage Productions Parade of Rescues, the Huffines Costume Contest, Games & Races, a raffle, and a silent auction. Additionally, participants can enjoy some complimentary food and beverages including snacks provided by Mattito’s, desserts provided by Cheesecake Royale, and beverages provided by Starbucks. And of course, there will be lots of GREAT PRIZES. Be sure to check out WRNT’s Pledge Drive Contest for a chance to win a 42" TV!

WRNT is proud to have the support of communities and businesses from across the metroplex for our yearly fundraiser.  Teenagers from University Park and Forney will be serving as volunteers at the event.  Additionally, Sponsors this year include Huffines Dealerships, Amphibian Stage Productions, Dr. Cindy Motta @ USMD, Frocket, Mattito’s Tex Mex, Cheesecake Royale, Starbucks, Captured in this Moment Photography, East Dallas Vetinary Clinic, Nature’s Variety Instinct brand dog food, Jacki’s Catering, DFW Fence Doctor, Your DJ, Chrsti Harris, and Vital Pet.

WRNT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that exists to rescue and rehabilitate abused, abandoned, neglected, homeless, and surrendered West Highland White Terriers.  WRNT is completely staffed with volunteers, and relies on donations to provide medical care and to rehabilitate the Westies in our program.
