Capita announce details of their Delivering Payment by Results in Mental Health Services Conference

This Conference provides an opportunity to explore the new guidance and prepare for further delivery of PbR whilst delivering the latest updates from ongoing pilots of PbR in new mental health service areas.

LONDON - Sept. 25, 2013 - PRLog -- The implementation of payment by results (PbR) in mental health continues and details of the changes that are planned for 2014/15 will be released shortly. This conference provides an opportunity to explore the new guidance and prepare for further delivery of PbR. It also delivers the latest updates from ongoing pilots of PbR in new mental health service areas.

Both Monitor and NHS England are keen to ensure that there is stability within the mental health system. This is to ensure that that both providers and commissioners feel confident to effectively plan for the future. This conference delivers the information that these groups require to be able undertake their planning for the transformation of mental health care.

However, PbR does not exist in isolation and this important event will place the mental health payment system within the context of both developing mental policy and the general emerging health and care environment. This will focus on the development of integrated care models and funding mechanisms and the implementation of choice of mental health provider from April 2014.

The conference has also been designed to enable local providers and commissioners to understand the flexibilities that exist for mental health currency innovation. While there is a central commitment to PbR, the message is clear that if local groups feel they have a better alternative, they are free to pursue these. However, to be approved, they will have to demonstrate they are an improvement on the current system. This event will help all understand the key criteria upon which alternative payment systems will be judged.

Attend this conference to hear the following key areas covered:

• Hear the latest guidance around mental health PbR delivery in 2014/15
• Understand how mental health PbR aligns with choice and other new mental health policies
• Discover how mental health policy links with the emerging agenda around integrated health and care
• Learn how to develop cluster based pathways and packages and explore how to incentivise good practice
• Explore how to use Patient Level Costing and Information Systems to understand care costs and accurately calculate and agree prices
• Explore a new methodology to put in place a contract based on cluster caseload with caps and collars
• Hear the latest updates from the pilots of PbR in CAMHS and IAPT
• Receive clarification of how PbR rules will be applied and the freedoms that exist for innovation

This event provides a key opportunity to hear directly from leading experts and practitioners.

Do not miss the chance to hear practical sessions related to the updates from ongoing pilots of PbR and to understand the flexibilities that exist for mental health currency innovation.
