Peyton, author Ms. Peyton’s first novel, Six Minutes to Midnight, set in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, tells the harrowing tale of a band of misfits stealing a nuclear weapon from a convoy out of Y-12, endangering the region with annihilation. Only courier Dana Knowles, who has unwittingly snubbed the psychotic leader, can follow the clues to identify him and to prevent a nuclear holocaust. The clock ticks down to ‘Six Minutes to Midnight,’ the setting of the Doomsday Clock registering the closeness of nuclear devastation. Her next book, Murder on Bedford Island, is the first of her ‘vacation- Ms. Peyton’s third book is the true-life novel of courage and faith, Walk on Through the Rain, which tells the story of two-year old Jeannie Erickson, who contracts polio in the 1940s, and learns to walk again and live a full and rewarding life, overcoming the physical handicaps as well as psychological scars from spending much of her childhood in hospital children’s wards. Ms. Peyton is currently writing her second novel in her ‘vacation- Ms. Peyton will be selling and autographing her works, and says that books make the perfect holiday gift as they are inexpensive, unique, and can provide many hours of pleasurable reading. She will be appearing with several other writers in the Authors Guild of Tennessee, of which she is a founding member, who offer an interesting range of literary genres including science fiction, poetry, fantasy, and children’s lit.
