Participate in Breast Cancer Awareness Month with HERS Breast Cancer Foundation

HERS Breast Cancer Foundation Prepares for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October

FREMONT, Calif. - Sept. 24, 2013 - PRLog -- FREMONT, Calif. – September 24, 2013 – HERS Breast Cancer Foundation (http://hersbreastcancerfoundation.org/) (HBCF), a professional accredited organization that supports breast cancer survivors, is gearing up for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. In effort to bring attention to breast cancer and raise funds to support those who are battling, recovering, or have survived this disease, HBCF is opening their doors to businesses that want to participate in Breast Cancer Awareness Month and are looking for a way to get involved.

HBCF is grateful for the ongoing support from the Sixth Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Car Show, Washington High School Paws for a Cause Walk, Castlewood Women’s Golf Tournament, and Acacia Creek Fashion Show. HERS Breast Cancer Foundation supports all women healing from breast cancer by providing post-surgical products and services, regardless of financial status. The organization has five ongoing programs for those battling and recovering from breast cancer: Bras for Body & Soul (http://hersbreastcancerfoundation.org/programs-services/); We Support, You Survive; Lymphedema Project; Hair with Care; and Breast Health Outreach Program.

“We admire all breast cancer organizations that are doing great work to bring awareness to this unfortunate disease,” said Dr. Vera Packard, Executive Director at HERS Breast Cancer Foundation. “Our mission is unique; we focus on delivering the products and emotional support for women who are battling or recovering from breast cancer and just want to feel like themselves again. We hope to bring even more exposure to breast cancer during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and are happy to work with any business that would like to participate.”

HERS Breast Cancer Foundation was established in 1998 by a team of dynamic women. These women were motivated by their concern for women and the high incidence of breast cancer, along with the lack of specific services for breast cancer survivors. HBCF hosts two annual events to raise funds to continue providing its services, bring awareness to breast cancer and their mission: People with Purpose Luncheon and KEEP Abreast Walk/Run. The organization also always welcomes generous donations or contributions (http://hersbreastcancerfoundation.org/how-you-can-help/).

Those interested in participating in Breast Cancer Awareness month are encouraged to reach out to HERS Breast Cancer Foundation at hersinfo@hersbreastcancerfoundation.org or (510) 790-1911.
