Local Concrete Company Wins Project of the Year Award

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Sept. 23, 2013 - PRLog -- The Concrete Foundation Association (CFA) has recognized Doggett Concrete’s excellence in a variety of concrete construction categories for the past 3 years and 2013 was no exception. Doggett Concrete was honored with a 2013 Project of the Year award in the Private Single Family Residence category for a job completed with a foundation greater than 2,000 sq. feet in The Sanctuary. Fresh off the unveiling of an organizational rebrand and charitable contributions with Operation Finally Home, Doggett Concrete Construction Co. couldn’t be more pleased with the CFA nod.

Doggett Concrete strives to learn more, find ways to improve, and put efficiencies in place; this honor confirms Doggett is doing something right. The project recognized by the CFA was focused around the construction of an energy-efficient home. Doggett Concrete Construction Co. utilized insulated concrete form (ICF) construction and cast-in-place (CIP) concrete principles coupled with new LEED certified and Green building standards.

“Our team overcame an array of obstacles to complete this job such as limited delivery access, unusually rainy season, and time sensitive framing requirements. I couldn’t be more proud of the crew. This was truly a job well done,” said Doug Doggett, President of Doggett Concrete Construction Inc.

With members in 26 states and Canada, the CFA is a voluntary, nonprofit association that brings together concrete contractors and professionals nationwide to improve the quality of cast-in-place concrete walls and foundations. The CFA provides promotional materials, educational seminars, and networking opportunities to its members and the industry. CFA also works on behalf of its members and the entire industry to develop support and influence code bodies. Each year, the CFA recognizes online nominated contractors in 5 categories: Contractor of the Year, Project of the Year, Robert D. Sawyer, Lifetime Achievement, and Most Valuable Player.
