Label Planet’s Static Cling Labels – A No Mess, No Fuss Multi-Purpose Teaching Tool
Label Planet’s newest product for schools is a transparent static cling label that is just perfect for the classroom. Set out on A4 sheets, these transparent labels use static cling to adhere to surfaces, making them fully reusable, repositionable, and removable – ideal in the fast-paced, constantly changing environment of a school classroom.
Static cling labels can be turned into teaching tools, tailored specifically to the requirements of a particular topic, subject or pupil. They can be used to demonstrate sentence structure in foreign languages; to construct and solve mathematical equations in maths, to demonstrate chemical equations and reactions in chemistry, to create timelines of events in history, or to label maps in geography. These labels allow teachers to create their own interactive teaching tools based on their teaching methods, the subject being studied and the pupils being taught. Teachers and pupils can simply write on the labels with marker pens, or the labels can be printed on a standard laser printer.
Static cling labels are made from a transparent polyester material, which is both highly durable and waterproof. The use of static cling means the labels don’t leave behind any adhesive residue, so there are no sticky messes to remove or cover up, and they have an ultra-transparent appearance when applied to surfaces, making them brilliant window signs or protective covers for classroom displays. Static cling labels can be used for displays, as name labels for furniture and stationery, as indoor signs and notices, or as an educational tool in their own right. These easy to print labels are compatible with laser printers, but they can also be left blank or written on using standard permanent marker pens.
Wall displays need to withstand the day to day activity of the classroom environment. Static cling labels can be used as a protective cover for pieces of work on display. When a new display is being set up, the cover can be removed without damaging the work and then reused to protect the new display. There’s no need to laminate each piece of work and the labels can be used to add information such as the title of a project or the names of pupils who have contributed. Topical displays can also be created for specific lessons, such as “Words of the Week” for a language class, the formulae being studied in a maths lesson, or simply a reminder of the areas of study that form part of a particular topic.
Classrooms constantly need to be updated and organised to suit the needs of a school and its teachers and pupils. Individual name labels can be applied to desks, books, lockers, coat pegs, drawers, or trays, and removed as needed when new pupils arrive. Labels can be applied to storage spaces to keep track of what is – or what should be – stored there. Indoor signs can also be created, including temporary directions for use during parent evenings or performances;
