Water Cleaner Replaces Chemicals

Businessman Les Miles has a clear goal – to clear out the array of chemicals under everyone’s kitchen sink, and replace them with one spray bottle of electrolysed water.

Les is passionate about reducing the amount of chemicals in everyday cleaning use, and is the Australian manager for US company, GenEon Technologies.

GenEon puts an electrical charge through a mixture of water and minerals to create electrolysed water, a safe and effective cleaner, degreaser and sanitiser.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recognised the natural mineral additives used in GenEon solutions as GRAS: Generally Regarded As Safe, and under approved AOAC testing methods, the sanitizing solution killed 99.999 percent of problem germs such as listeria, staph, salmonella and E.coli.

Albury businessman Lee Geraghty is a convert. He runs the Hogs Breath Café and is responsible for 18 front of house staff and 9 in the kitchen, many of whom used to react badly to traditional chemical cleaners.

“I had girls with dermatitis because a lot of the cleaning products have irritants in them, but GenEon is fantastic, and the fact that it’s harmless to food means if there’s an overspray, it’s not a problem,” said Mr Geraghty.

“It cuts through grease but it doesn’t harm furniture either. We have timber tables with a really nice lacquer that other chemicals left feeling sticky, but this doesn’t. I’ve even used it on my tepanyaki stone grill and it leaves it looking like new.”

For Stephen Coster, proprietor of The Chosen Bean café in Ferntree Gully, using GenEon to clean and sanitise fits in with his beliefs as a ‘green individual’.

“Some people don’t care what damage they do as long as everything is sterile, but I want to keep everything as close to nature as possible,” he said.

“GenEon fits in with my aim of only using quality in everything I do, and the unit allows me to make a solution that’s strong or weaker, depending on whether I’m cleaning or degreasing.”

GenEon’s Les Miles says the solution avoids the cost, risk and complexity of traditional chemicals, and is highly effective.

“The Toxic Use Reduction Institute at the University of Massachussets tested the cleaning power of GenEon Technologies solution and found that it performs as well or better than the leading cleaners and degreasers,” he said.

“Electrolyzed water can save commercial businesses thousands of dollars a year on cleaning products, and even better, it’s safe for people and the environment.”
