Shaastra,technical festival of IIT Madras,organizes Sampark associating with Takshak'13 at Ernakulam

ERNAKULAM, India - Sept. 22, 2013 - PRLog -- Shaastra, the annual technical festival of IIT Madras, will be reaching out to colleges in Kerala this year with its outreach program: Sampark. A series of demonstrations and competitions will be conducted in an effort to inspire the students and motivate them in “Breaking Boundaries”.

With footfalls of 20,000 each year, Shaastra is wellknown for being one of the biggest and best technical fests in Asia and the first in the world to be ISO: 9001 certified. The 15th edition of the fest will be held from 4th to 7th January, 2014.

Samparks are a series of workshops, events, lectures and qualifiers that are held at cities across India in an effort to bring Shaastra closer to everyone. With a Sampark in Kerala for the second time, a strong participation from the brightest minds across the state is expected.

The Kochi edition of the Shaastra Sampark will be held from 9:00AM to 5:00PM from 27th to 28th September in association with Takshak '13 at Mar Athanasius College of Engineering, Ernakulam.

Sampark Kochi has the following events lined up:

Roboceana:

A perfect mix of entertainment and technology, Roboceana was a huge hit among the crowds in its inaugural year, at Shaastra 2013. The workshop is aimed at providing the participants with skills of basic electronics, hydrodynamics and a tinge of robotics, that will help their battleships stay afloat and defeat the enemy to become the master of the waves.

Aeromodelling Workshop:

Aeromodelling Workshop gives amateurs a chance to learn to build a fully functional RC controlled trainer aircraft, designed by our experts, which can be easily assembled and built. Giving an insight into the design and fabrication of aeromodelling, this one is a must attend for all aero enthusiasts.

RC Car Racing:

The most entertaining event of the lot, which assures to give you that adrenaline rush and guarantees to challenge your racing skills, RC Car racing is that crowd pulling event you better not miss.

Quadrotor Demonstration:

The Quadrotor, an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), flies with four spinning blades, like a helicopter. A demonstration showing this engineering marvel hovering around is sure to leave one spellbound.
