MINNEAPOLIS - Sept. 20, 2013 - PRLog -- Already a booming area, business owners and residents of the North Loop (http://www.mplsrent.com/) are preparing for a new train station near Target Field. Hennepin County officials approved the proposal for the addition of the Target Field Transit Hub and pavilion on September 12th.

“This is going to be a spectacular facility tied to the ball park, transit and the neighborhood.” Stated County Commissioner, Peter McLaughlin in the Minneapolis Star Tribune following the commission's approval of the project on Thursday.

Construction has begun on the $79.3 Million project and the anticipated date of the grand opening is for the MLB All-Star Game in July of 2014.  The construction project includes a spacious park, ample retail space, an on site police station and a Jumbo Screen for not only displaying train schedules but also to broadcast baseball games and other local events. Minnesota Twins President, Dave St. Peter likened the new station to that of New York City's Grand Central Station.

“All things rail lead to this station.” The baseball team president commented in the Star Tribune.

Home to many trendy restaurants, clubs and high-end rental properties, the North Loop has seen marked growth in the past decade due to the improvements to the area.  Once highly industrial, the metamorphosis into one of the Twins City's most popular neighborhoods has lead to a huge increase in local population.

“Back in 2000, about 1500 people called the Loop home,” Said MPLS Rent Property Management (http://www.mplsrent.com/) owner and founder, Joe Kirkwood.  “Today, thanks to the county's funding and improvements, there is nearly 5000 folks in the neighborhood.”

Kirkwood went on to explain that the increase in popularity of the North Loop has resulted in the conversion of many empty buildings into very trendy and sought after loft and warehouse rental properties.  As a leader in Minneapolis property management (http://www.mplsrent.com/), MPLS Rent manages many of the rental properties available in the artsy North Loop neighborhood and is enjoying the upward momentum of the area.

“While we've got rental properties all over the Twin Cities and out-lying areas,” Kirkwood explained, “The North Loop seems to be one of the most desirable areas of the metro for rental homes (http://www.mplsrent.com/). The Target Field Transit Hub will only increase the desire to be a resident of the up and coming neighborhood.”
