FORT WORTH, Texas - Sept. 20, 2013 - PRLog -- The Vintage Flying Museum will hold its 23rd Annual Big Band Hangar Dance and Silent Auction on Saturday, October 5, 2013.  This event is a major fundraiser for the museum, a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation.

“We are celebrating Rosie the Riveter and the Homefront,” said Charlyn ‘Chuckie’ Hospers, Director of the Vintage Flying Museum.  “We are excited to celebrate the legacy of these often unsung heroes of World War II.”

“Everyone is welcome to come out and enjoy a fun evening of dinner and dancing.  Some of our attendees dress up in 40s attire or as their favorite aviators.  Period dress is optional, and we award prizes for the best period attire.”

The Alan Glasscock Orchestra will provide big band sounds with their 16-piece orchestra for a nostalgic evening of fun. This is the original hangar dance in the area and is staged in front of a WW II bomber on display in an authentic WW II B-29 hangar.

Dinner will be served from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., with dancing from 8 – midnight.  The event is BYOB with soft drinks and snacks available for purchase.

Advance dinner and dance tickets are $45.  Dance only tickets are $30 in advance, or $35 at the door.  Reserve tables are available with the purchase of ten tickets.  Corporate tables are also available.
