Prostate Health Center Receives Donation from Knights of Columbus

OCEANSIDE, N.Y. - Sept. 20, 2013 - PRLog -- The Knights of Columbus (Father John Farrell Council # 5962) in Hewlett, N.Y. recently donated $2,000 in support of the Center for Prostate Health at South Nassau Communities Hospital’s Gertrude & Louis Feil Cancer Center.  This is the fifth consecutive year that the Council has made a generous gift to South Nassau for a combined total of $13,000.

The Center for Prostate Health at the Gertrude & Louis Feil Cancer Center is a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary prostate and urology care program, with a full spectrum of clinical and support services, from screening and diagnosis to treatment and counseling.  It provides the latest advancements in treatment options including da Vinci Robotic Surgical Prostatectomy; Radical Prostatectomy; Radiation Therapy including the state-of-the-art Novalis™ Radiosurgery System; and Active Surveillance or watchful waiting treatment.  The Center's physicians prescribe treatment plans that are tailored to the individual needs of the patients.

Treating approximately 1,500 patients annually, South Nassau’s Gertrude & Louis Feil Cancer Center has evolved into one of the Northeast corridor’s premiere providers of compassionate advanced cancer care.  The center is the only one on Long Island that is equipped with the Varian Novalis Tx, da Vinci® Surgical System and Gamma Knife® Perfexion.
