- Sep. 19, 2013 - TOLEDO, Ohio -- Healthy Toledo!
is a charitable initiative that was launched in May of 2013 through collaboration of multiple organizations and professionals in the greater Toledo area. It serves the Northwest Ohio region by providing periodic free seminars to the public on aging and management of chronic health conditions. Seminars are hosted every other month at the Ability Center of Greater Toledo located on 5605 Monroe Street, and usually runs for about four hours. Each seminar focuses on a specific health condition with presentations from health professionals such as physicians, physical and occupational therapists, nurses, pharmacists and nutritionists.
Through the seminars, Health Toledo! aspires to:
- help individuals better cope with and manage their health conditions
- facilitate family members/ friends with more knowledge to enhance their caregiving
- aid in reducing the burden of caregiving
- improve health literacy
The SAI Group Foundation coordinates the forum’s activities with the following co-organizers:
