Senate Confirms Appointment of the Honorable Patricia Campbell-Smith to US Court of Federal Claims

Sept. 20, 2013 - PRLog -- The Maglio Christopher & Toale, PA Law Firm would like to congratulate The Honorable Patricia E. Campbell-Smith on the confirmation of her appointment to the United States Court of Federal Claims.   On Tuesday, September 17th the United States Senate confirmed Judge Campbell-Smith to a seat on the United States Court of Federal Claims.

Judge Campbell-Smith previously served as Chief of the Office of Special Masters of the Court of Federal Claims.  In conjunction with the judges of the Court of Federal Claims, the Office of Special Masters adjudicates claims brought on behalf of vaccine injured individuals under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Act.  Due to her work with vaccine injury claims, as well as her experience and background, on March 19, 2013, President Obama nominated Judge Campbell-Smith to serve on the Court of Federal Claims. She became a Special Master of the United States Court of Federal Claims in 2005 and Chief Special Master in 2011.
