Sage Day Announces Webinar on Non-Suicidal Self-Injurious Behavior

Sage Day (http://www.sageday.com/) is an alternative school option for children and adolescents who need a small and safe school environment in order to learn and thrive. The students who attend Sage have dealt with emotional factors that have impeded on their learning. These students frequently have dealt with issues such as: anxiety, depression, school phobia or school avoidance issues.

Christopher Leonard, Director of Operations for Sage Day, said “during our last webinar on adolescent suicide risk assessment, attendees expressed a high level of interest in learning more about how to work with self-injurious behavior in the school setting.”

He said he hopes participants gain an understanding of the history, causes and emotional underpinnings of self-injurious behavior in addition to how best to intervene with students who are engaging in self-harm.

This webinar is being offered for: school case managers, directors of special services, principals, parents and anyone in the community interested in learning more about this topic.One Continuing Education Unit (CEU) will be offered to school officials and all attendees will be able to download a certificate of completion.
