£50m raised in six months affirms Taylor Vinters’ deal-making power

Sept. 19, 2013 - PRLog -- Deals involving London based companies reflect the city’s core strengths of digital media, software and fashion; with a different sector focus - medical devices, drug discovery, materials technology, bioinformatics, CleanTech – for those involving Cambridge-based companies.

Says Adrian Rainey, venture capital partner at Taylor Vinters: “We are completing almost twice as many fund raisings as this time two years ago; the increase reflects the continuing entrepreneurial dynamism of tech city in London but has also been led by the biotech sector with increasing confidence amongst investors on being able to realise a financial return.”

Encouragingly – and continuing the theme that the firm has been tracking for some time – the funds are being injected from a large variety of different sources. Gone are the days when the same, small handful of venture capital funds are found on every deal.

Adrian continues, “Entrepreneurs can have many more conversations with investors. However, if a large amount of capital is required – more than £2m – there are only certain VCs who, alongside corporate venturers, can realistically provide that level of backing."
