Angry Birds creator to participate in Central American Nearshore Summit

Peter Vesterbacka, CMO of Rovio Entertainment Oy and creator of Angry Birds, has become part of the elite group of speakers at the first Central American Nearshore Summit (CANS) 2013.
 
Sept. 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Peter Vesterbacka, CMO of Rovio Entertainment Oy and creator of Angry Birds, has become part of the elite group of speakers at the first Central American Nearshore Summit (CANS) 2013. Vesterbacka is best known as the Mighty Eagle at Rovio, where his job is to lead Angry Birds into a multi-billion dollar franchise. He also serves as Senior Advisor at Transfluent Ltd., a high-tech solution for language translations in social media, and has been active with startup companies for years.

CANS, an event focused on promoting Central America as an outsourcing destination, will include a series of presentations from international experts on important topics such as global trends, innovation, investment, site selection and business opportunities offered in Central America. The event will take place in Managua, Nicaragua on November 7th and 8th.

Among the set of select speakers are Dawn Evans, President and CEO of Sourcing Interest Group (SIG), with over 20 years of leadership experience and the past 14 focused on the sourcing and outsourcing industry; Bert Quintana, President and CEO of Sitel, responsible for directing the company’s strategic growth and expansion as well as business development to enhance Sitel’s customer management solutions; DJ Edgerton, Founder and CEO of Zemoga, a pioneer in building a successful LatAm based technology innovation delivery model for Top Tier US customers; and Ann Harts, Principal of Hickey & Associates, LLC, provides strategy and services on corporate site selection and public incentive advisory to global companies, as well as Community Screening Studies for M&A transactions.

Also participating as speakers during this exclusive event are Peter Ryan, Lead Analyst IT Services of Ovum, recently named the 18th most influential leader in the domain of outsourcing in the Americas by Nearshore Americas in 2013; Kirk Laughlin, Founder and Editorial Director of Nearshore Americas, emerged as one of the foremost thought-leaders on the expansion of cross-border trade and ICT and global services investment in the Americas; Atul Vashistha, Founder and Chairman of NEO Group, globally recognized as one of the leading experts on global services and outsourcing; and Michael Barrett, Co-Founder and CEO of Unosquare, named one of the Top 15 Nearshore Leaders for 2012 by Nearshore Americas.

CANS is being coordinated by representatives of five Central American nations that will present the region as a competitive, unified and attractive outsourcing destination; among them are CINDE (Costa Rica), FIDE (Honduras), Invest in Guatemala, PROESA (El Salvador) and PRONicaragua. Also, this summit will be the first time the agencies promote the entire regions as a destination for investment, which is already home to some of the most internationally renowned companies such as IBM, Intel, XEROX, Transactel, Sykes, Stream Global Services, Citi, Sitel and Hewlett-Packard.
