Hip Hop’s Unsung Hero Releases New Single and Autobiography, “So You Wanna Be A Rapper”

ATLANTA - Sept. 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Spyder D, a legendary old school rapper and producer from Queens, NY, was one of the first rap artists to open up his own record label in which he wrote and produced his first hit record, “Big Apple Rappin”.

“Big Apple Rappin”, continues to be sampled to this day by various artists.

The single tells the true story of hip hop from 1979 – 1982. “Spinnin’ Webs & Rappin Rhymes”- Spyder conquered his ingenuity in this recording, both as a producer and artist.  This rare collection album is currently being sold on several websites, such as:  Amazon.com tuffcity.com, musicstack.com, cdandlp.com to name a few. Tuff City founded by Aaron Fuchs, whom signed a deal with CBS Associated Records.  Tuff City has released artists such as: Davy DMX, Jimmy Spicer, Marley Marl and Teddy Riley, to name a few.

Spyder is considered as a HipHop Unsung Hero as he was caught in between the era of audio single releases prior to the emergence of the popularity of music videos at the height of his career.  As a producer and songwriter, Spyder has given more to his peers than he did for himself.  Some peers note that Spyder has passed on many of his opportunities to others without mention of his involvement. A behind the scenes music maker, Spyder has yet to be acknowledged for his outstanding contributions to some of the industry’s top artists.

30 years later, Spyder is reborn in his commitment to moving forward as a professional artist. He is focused on being an artist, basketball agent, and family man. Spyder has decided to share his experiences in which he has previously encountered in the music industry, through his autobiography: “So You Wanna Be a Rapper”, written by Mark Skillz and foreword written by Hip Hop Mogul Russell Simmons.  This autobiography shares his story of determination as he tackled adversities and welcomed triumphs all of which he shares to inspire new up & coming artists in the industry. This is a true hip hop blue print. The book has recieved rave reviews, and can now be purchased via , Amazon and iTunes and Sony eReader, among other digital outlets.

Spyder has teamed up with fellow colleagues, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Public Enemy’s own, Chuck D, and the son of a legend David Ruffin Jr., for his newly released single, “In Case You Didn’t Know”.  This new release debut can be purchased on iTunes. The highly anticipated video is to be released within the next 2 weeks.

Spyder has just completed “Big City Rappin”, an EP remix of the classic debut Newtroit Records 12’ single “Big Apple Rappin”. This remake will be available on iTunes this coming week.
