The 2014 Jeep Cherokee is Ready to Come to Bosak Motor Sales

Jeep has imbued the Cherokee with many features not found in other Jeep models, the most notable being a new nine-speed automatic transmission. This will help to improve acceleration and fuel economy up to 31 mpg highway. Following its debut in the 2014 Cherokee, the transmission will become standard in other Jeep models.

Chrysler has also given the Jeep Cherokee rear axle disconnect, a first for an SUV of this size. This reduces the amount of energy lost when four-wheel drive is not needed (4WD vehicles use more fuel than their 2WD counterparts). The Jeep is able to determine when all four wheels are needed and can seamlessly switch between driving modes without difficulty.

The 2014 Jeep Cherokee will be available with two different engine options. The standard for the model is a 2.4L 16V four-cylinder Tigershark engine that produces 185 hp and 171 lb-ft of torque along with the previously mentioned 31 mpg highway rating. For more power, there’s the 3.2L V6 Pentastar which produces 271 hp and 239 lb-ft of torque, and has been named to Ward’s 10 Best Engines three years in a row.

Beyond performance, the Jeep Cherokee offers four different trim levels packed with modern features. Drivers can modify a seven-inch instrument cluster and access a number of features through an 8.4-inch color touchscreen. Other available features include a rearview camera, heated seats, satellite radio, and a navigation system.
