Mary Laxton was delighted to see her mother, a resident at Bowes House, daughter and grandchildren all in one place enjoying a barbecue and entertainment.

Neighbours were welcomed along with friends and family of residents and team members. “It is important to us to bring people together like this. We have a beautiful building with areas especially designed for socialising, both indoors and out, and we are making the most of them. The weather was perfect for a barbecue and people moved comfortably between our sunny courtyard, bar, lounge and garden.” There was music for the occasion and entertainment was provided by Fred Delius and his acrobatic Labrador Henry who demonstrated “mind-reading” A raffle raised funds for the East Sussex Association for the Blind and Partially Sighted People which is based in Hailsham.
