HHCGA Announces Top 5 Finalists for Latino Health Excellence Award

Out of 12 community based nominations, an independent committee elected top 5 individuals that have made most difference in bridging the gap o f health disparities

ATLANTA - Sept. 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Atlanta, GA.- Hispanic Health Coalition of Georgia (HHCGA) announced today the 5 top finalists for its “Latino Health Excellence Award”.   Out of 12 nominations, an independent committee voted the top 5 individuals that with their work have made a difference bridging health disparities in the state.

Top Finalists for the Latino Health Excellence Award are:

Oscar Adorno, Serenity Wellness

Bernadette Chang, American Cancer Society

Maria Conde, Gwinnett County Health Department

Dorothy Leone-Glasser, Advocates for Responsible Care

Eduardo Perez, PM Publicidad


The winner will be announced during the “Latinos for Health Luncheon” on September 26th at 11:30am at TWELVE HOTELS Ballroom (Atlantic Station)

About the Latino Health Excellence Award

The Latino Health Excellence Award is presented annually to an outstanding contributor in the area of Hispanic health. Candidates are nominated and awardees selected through a community process, independent of HHCGA board and staff. Criteria include excellence in professional practice; implementing policy or strategies, promoting health programs; improving the effectiveness of health systems; designing education/training programs; or leadership.
