BG Events and Catering Launches Wedding Registry Website

BOSTON - Sept. 17, 2013 - PRLog -- BOSTON—BG Events and Catering, a Boston-area full-service event planning company, recently launched their one-of-a-kind wedding registry website. The registry is a new service offered to couples booking their wedding celebrations with BG Events and Catering. The registry service allows them to register for specialty event items to complete their dream weddings; guests then have the option to contribute to the celebration itself in lieu of alternative gifts.

BG’s wedding registry website is a first for the industry. “We want to be able to give couples the celebration they’ve always wanted, and this service allows just that,” said Ken Barrett, BG Events and Catering’s Executive Director.

The registry gives couples the opportunity to register for items that they want as part of their special day, but that are not necessarily feasible on their current budget.  Couples choose “wish list” items—upgraded bar services, lamour linens, china, lounge furniture, late-night snacks and dessert displays, among others—and then share that list with their guests, giving guests the option to purchase something for the event instead of a traditional wedding gift.

Wedding guests are able to contribute the full price of an item or just a portion of the item’s total cost. All payments are processed via PayPal with the payments being deposited directly into the couple’s event account at BG Events and Catering.

“We anticipate the site to be used more by the couples that already have all the ‘stuff’ they need for their life together. Those couples will find more value in having their guests contribute to their wedding by donating to the special day, helping make it a memorable experience rather than having guests purchase something like bed sheets or a kitchen mixer,” Barrett said.
