NEW YORK - Sept. 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Pontus Gunve and his band will be playing at Spike Hill in Brooklyn, New York on September 28th. Gunve’s portion of the three act bill is set for 9 PM. Spike Hill is located at 186 Bedford Ave, Brooklyn, New York. A recent appearance by Gunve at Spike Hill was captured on video and can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zbIF_uUiKg (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zbIF_uUiKg).

NYC-based guitarist, composer and technologist Pontus Gunve’s music embraces the theory that music is a multi-dimensional experience and an adventure in wordless storytelling that fully absorbs the audience. Flowing through time and space, the sonic textures he creates evoke the ethereal landscapes of other-worldly multi-media artists like Jean Michel Jarre and Boards of Canada while still clearly inspired by the thick, dark compositional textures of legendary heavy metal bands like Megadeth.

Gunve’s latest album, The Observer was released earlier this year. So far the critical response has been great. Numerous critics have found a lot of great things to say about the album.

At Neufutur James McQuiston said, “With each track on The Observer, Gunve looks to challenge his listeners and establish more than the expected music / vocal dichotomy…Gunve lays down guitar riffs but marries them to a multimedia experience, all while the rest of the band (including tabla, drums, cello, violin, and bass guitar) fills out each composition” In his review of the album, Andrew Metzger of Mountain Weekly News) said, “Listening to Pontus HW Gunve’s newest album, The Observer…is an exciting and awesome thrill ride.” Scott Kahn had this to say of the single “Cavalry of Camels” at MusicPlayers.com: "World Music meets Prog Metal in the latest single from Pontus Gunve. This is big orchestral stuff that rocks thanks to the solid guitar and drums anchoring the complex rhythms... I'm not fully sure how we'd categorize it, but we definitely enjoy listening to it."
