Sept. 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Leading energy ICT Company Nation-E today announced that it is beginning to roll out an advanced energy management software – Bank of Energy™ Sun & Storage (SAS). SAS will enable the grid operator to distinguish between different generation assets within the grid, especially in cases of PV solar electric installations combined with storage devices. Sales of Bank of Energy™ SAS will begin in October 2013.

The Bank of Energy™ SAS software is based on Nation-E´s acclaimed  Energy CEREBRUM ™ technology is the first tool to accurately measure all energy flows within a system that consists of PV panels, power electronics storage systems which are connected to a house and the electricity grid. In addition to measuring electricity flows, SAS allows keeps accurate track of the respective prices, and more importantly – the Bank of Energy™ SAS software distinguishes between different energy assets, the power the contribute and manages it’s utilization. Therefore a utility or the end client can tell when power is consumed from a PV system, a storage device or the grid.

PV solar electric systems coupled with storage devices are increasingly recognized as being amongst the most efficient and economical power asset combination, providing a number of advantages compared with traditional generation assets, among them being: emergency power supply, demand response, low GHG emissions, load leveling and grid stabilization.

However wide-spread implementation of such systems into electricity grids has been hampered by the inability to track and record the electricity flows initial sources (PV, storage, grid, etc.) and prices accurately.

Tariff schemes, such as TOU pricing and various feed-in tariffs for renewables; have caused such a complexity, that existing ICT and smart metering systems have not been able anymore to provide an accurate energy balance.

Consequently, utilities have started to stop connecting solar energy systems with batteries to their grids, because utilities cannot distinguish between power produced by the solar panels and power supplied by the batteries, which are considered a nonrenewable source of power.

Mr. Daniel Jammer, Nation-E’s President and founder stated: “Nation-E’s has been working to precisely solve the energy asset data challenge. We have understood that the ability to distinguish the contribution of each energy asset to the mix is crucial to energy management and consumption planning. We are now thrilled to learn that we are right on target, and expect to alleviate energy source differentiation challenge with our software and partner with advanced utilities wishing to empower their consumers and strengthen their power generation and distribution portfolios”.

Bank of Energy™ SAS provides the following features:

·         Total transparency of energy, source, data and prices

·         Provides energy and pricing balance sheets for each generation and storage asset separately

·         Acts as the master meter

·         Creates balance sheet for self-consumption of PV produced or storage energy

·         Ensures utility approval to connect systems to the grid
