Sept. 15, 2013 - PRLog -- Manual handling training is dear to the hearts of Health & Safety Executive inspectors, who want to see proof that it has been taken seriously in every organisation they visit. Where handlers have been issued with a nationally recognised manual handling certificate for attending a course and achieving the required standard, they will be easily satisfied.

Partnership with Recognised Experts

Proskills and the National Skills Academy for Materials, Production and Supply, has collaborated with Alistair Bromhead Ltd to develop a new scheme for such a nationally recognised certificate. Details are available at http://www.abromhead.co.uk/manual-handling-certification.asp.

Trainers who have achieved the City & Guilds Manual Handling Train the Trainer Certificate with Alistair Bromhead Ltd in the last three years, can register with the scheme. Following registration, their courses can lead to the new certificate.

Because these qualified trainers are trusted to decide on the exact training needs of the workforce, the scheme offers the flexibility to arrange the most relevant training for the organisation, while ensuring that trainees also have a general and transferable knowledge of manual handling issues and techniques. Courses still have to cover a list of topics and, to be awarded the certificate, delegates must achieve at least 12 correct answers from a list of 15 questions on a multiple choice test paper at the end of each course.

Benefits of the New Scheme

Trainers who do not hold the City & Guilds qualification find it much more difficult to prove their training competence for other schemes. They also find the course content required is more rigidly prescriptive, so that it cannot be tailored to meet the requirements of a particular business or organisation.

There are clear advantages to the new scheme for those who have attended the Alistair Bromhead Ltd City & Guilds Manual Handling Train the Trainer course and hold that qualification. Information about the course can be found at http://www.abromhead.co.uk/manual-handling-train-the-trainer.asp.
