Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. Idaho Community Hero Award Winner

LOS ANGELES - Sept. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. ® National Community Hero Awards are presented to an officer who has gone above and beyond his/her role as a police officer, or to officers who have made a difference in their community.

Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. is proud to announce the State Community Hero Award recipient for 2013: Officer Deputy Terisa Howell of Ada County Sheriff’s Office, Boise, Idaho.

Deputy Howell continuously goes above and beyond the call of duty to make a difference in her community both on-duty and off.  She currently serves in the Ada County Sheriff’s Jail Services Bureau where her daily mission is Making Safer Places to Live, Work and Play.  Deputy Howell can be found acting as a coach or teacher to the inmates as she commonly interacts with them to teach and demonstrate leadership and social life skills.

In addition to her services to the community, she serves as a Marine Deputy for the water sport recreation season and makes it her mission to ensure the waterways are safe for all to enjoy.  Each and every enforcement contact she makes is a learning opportunity and the lake is safer because of her dedicated work.

Terisa exemplifies the true spirit of a community servant.  With her dedication to her job, serving the public, she consistently represents her department in a positive way.  In her spare time, she actively supports the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.  She organizes countless fundraisers and activities to serve the community.

We would like to thank her for his services to Ada County and present Deputy Terisa Howell with our Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. National Community Hero Award on behalf of the Idaho Auxiliary.
