The best thing in the past years was surviving a series of surgeries to remove tumors in my body, which reduced my ability to perfom my physical duties in Real Estate for a 3 year period. My faith and determination gave me the strength to overcome this setback.

They set a standard for me to live by in that they were very compassionate people. I can think of many things that caused my me to admire and respect my parents. In the 40's and 50's it was difficult for people of color to obtain bank loans, so in some instances, my mother, Gertrude Glenn, co-signed on loans so that families could realize their dream. My parents as a team, in the early 60's fought real estate organizations for African Americans and others of color to be able to buy a home in any neighborhood they desired based solely on their economic ability. My parents won.

What Charles Turner San Francisco is most proud of is not related to the sales of real estate, more that of giving to those people who are most often forgotten. With the help of friends, and board members of a San Francisco organization, I coordinated the creation of some 973 vase arrangements delivered to Residents and Staff of San Francisco's Laguna Honda Hospital for St. Valentines Day 2009. We spent 5 hours cutting, arranging, and boxing all of these arrangements for delivery. It was so much fun. One could feel all that good energy amongst those who gave compassion to many receiving these gifts.
