(Miami, FL) Joe Kaufman, Republican candidate for United States Congress - Florida District 23, helped prepare care packages for American troops stationed overseas. The event, 'September 11th National Day of Service,' was held at Sun Life Stadium, the home of the Miami Dolphins football team.
Kaufman attended the event with his wife, Emily, and their baby daughter.
While donning Dolphins teal and orange, Kaufman stated, “I am always happy to support the troops. They are risking their lives for us in the most hostile areas in the world. Sending them daily necessities, like toothpaste and toothbrushes, or snacks is the least we can do.”
He continued, “This event was also important, because of the day it was being held on. September 11 has immense meaning to me. My life was changed due to the attacks that took place 12 years ago. We must never forget the lives that were lost in New York and D.C., and we must continue to demand answers from our government about what transpired in Benghazi, Libya on September 11 last year.”
Kaufman is running for U.S. House of Representatives against Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC). Congressional District 23 encompasses large areas of Broward and Miami-Dade Counties.
