Sept. 12, 2013 - PRLog -- Last week they had the airing of the 1st ever ultimate fighter which aired with women and men fighting to get into the house and eventually become the ultimate fighter winner. This is a new twist on the show that has been around for a long time now. Women are getting the opportunity to fight for a six figure contract with the UFC. The cool thing about the show is how it shows the effectiveness of mixed martial arts training for women.

Mixed martial arts gives women a huge advantage in self-defense versus a woman who can’t defend herself on the ground. Unfortunately many martial arts give women the false hope that their safe as long they can defend themselves on their feet which cannot be further truth. Mixed martial arts shows that even someone with a basic level of take down skill can take anybody to the ground. You have to know how to defend yourself on the ground, especially against a bigger and stronger person.

How to defends yourself on the ground that’s one of the biggest benefits of mixed martial arts training. Brazilian jiu jitsu were woman learning how to defend themselves on the ground, how to get back up, how to survive, how to apply submission and how to escape. Hopefully you never have to use your new skills, but there are a lot of situations where women need to know how to defend themselves on the ground.

I highly recommend if your a women looking for self-defense and a great way to get in shape, meet new friends and have a lot of fun then check out mixed martial arts, brazilian jiu-jitus and muay thai so you can learn all the different ranges of martial arts. I would never recommend learning only one martial art, that’s one of the biggest of benefits of mixed martial arts is you get to learn stand up, grappling, wrestling and everything in between. So go checkout a certified mixed martial arts school in your area in get started training.
