As one of the leading sponsors for the 2013 African Day Parade and Festival, Black Speech Media is providing, printing, design, website management and artists management in addition to hosting the screening. The film screening is will be a great opportunity to discuss the trends around the African movie industry, and what it means for Africans to be telling their stories through this medium. “ As Africans, we have to be able to tell our stories in a way that resonates with the rest of the world and there is no better medium than movies. This is why, a part of our participation in the African Day Parade and Festival we are presenting the community with the opportunity to come out and experience this process of storytelling with us,” said Black Speech Media. “African movies are a great way to celebrate each other, our communities and take pride on our progress.
After the film screening, guests are invited for a networking session with food provided by PANLA's African Restaurant Week. Other sponsors and supporters include the Association for African Journalists and Writers, Five Star Precious Metals, Under the Rock Radio, Akwaaba Media, Enovative TV, African Cultural Center and Applause Africa.
