San Diego-based D. Davis claimed an International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) black belt heavyweight gold medal this weekend at the at the 2013 American National Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Carson, California.  This win marks Davis’ eleventh gold medal at the American National Jiu-Jitsu Championship – a remarkable and almost unprecedented achievement.
Davis is the current black belt super-heavyweight and absolute nogi World champion.  His long and impressive professional record includes gold medals at prestigious events such as the IBJJF Pan American Championship, the Gracie Open No Time Limit Championship, and the World Grappling Games.  
The World and 11-time American National champion dedicated his American National win to his students and expressed his desire to help others discover the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  Davis explained that his competition success stems from his focus on proven Brazilian Jiu Jitsu techniques.  Davis shares these techniques with his students at Primal Training Center in the Scripps Ranch neighborhood in San Diego where he personally teaches classes for men, women, and children.
