Follow on Google News | Governor Rick Snyder to Kick Off Michigan’s Best & Brightest Sustainable Companies Awards SymposiBy: MBPA The program honors companies from all industries that are focused on being more sustainable, improving the lives of their employees and are committed to the local and global environments. (See following list of winners.) Winning companies were evaluated and scored by an independent research firm in the following categories: Education, Communication, Strategic Planning & Operational Implementation, Innovation & Problem Solving, Building & Grounds, Community Leadership, Workforce and Financial Performance. Each company’s entry is evaluated based on a point system; those receiving the highest points in relation to the company’s sustainable initiatives category are selected as the winners. This educational symposium and awards gala will begin at 7:30 a.m. and will feature networking, exhibits, continental breakfast and a keynote education session. Keynote speaker Bruce Thompson of Rockford Construction, will discuss “Sustainability Innovation, Knowledge and Implementation Shared by Leaders.” Participants will hear case studies that will review their path to successful sustainability within their companies. Steve Kelly of Wood Radio will host the luncheon and awards ceremony that starts at 9:45 a.m. Elite winners for each category will also be announced during the event.
