SAN JOSE, Calif. - Sept. 11, 2013 - PRLog -- San Jose, Calif. – Storied entrepreneur John McAfee is scheduled to provide a rare glimpse into his complicated and fascinating life and career during a fireside chat with veteran tech journalist and blogger Dan Holden on the third day of Creative Convergence Silicon Valley (C2SV (http://c2sv.com/)), Sept. 28, 2013.

C2SV brings many of Silicon Valley’s leading technologists, investors and entrepreneurs to downtown San Jose, Sept. 26 through Sept 29, for three days of sessions and workshops. Each day’s conference agenda will be followed by entertainment at 12 venues throughout downtown as a three-day music festival unfolds.

McAfee founded McAfee Associates, the first computer anti-virus company that distributed anti-virus software using the shareware business model. Other business ventures that he founded include Tribal Voice, which developed PowWow, one of the first interoperable instant messaging programs, and he participated in firewall software maker Zone Labs before its acquisition by Check Point Software. In 2010, McAfee started QuorumEx in Belize to develop commercial, all-natural antibiotics based on anti-quorum sensing technology. He fled Belize in December, 2012 when police sought to question him after a neighbor was found shot, sought refuge in Guatemala, returned to the US and is now living in Portland, Ore., blogging, making videos and working on a graphic novel of his memoirs.

The C2SV 2013 schedule includes more than 100 speakers in sessions that range from keynotes by digital journalist Robert Scoble, video game inventor Nolan Bushnell and social media expert Brian Solis, an introduction to Bitcoin with Internet pioneer Gary Kremen and eLoan founder Chris Larsen and a discussion of Internet privacy with serial entrepreneur Steve Kirsch, to an inside view of Hollywood-Silicon Valley convergence with Zuckerberg Media’s Bradley Lautenbach and a look at companies of the future with Yahoo! chair Maynard Webb. Iggy and the Stooges guitarist James Williamson will be the keynote interview on Saturday, Sept 28, discussing both his music career and 30 years at Sony and AMD.

About C2SV

C2SV combines a wide-ranging Silicon Valley technology conference with a multi-venue music festival to activate downtown San Jose for four days in September. The event was launched last year as a single-day, multi-venue music festival, the Silicon Valley Sound Experience. With the addition of technology, the name was changed to Creative Convergence Silicon Valley, or C2SV.  The technology conference takes place at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center from Thursday, Sept. 26 to Saturday, Sept. 28. The music begins Thursday night and goes through the closing party on Sunday. Tickets may be purchased at C2SV.com/tickets. For sponsorship inquiries, please email sponsors@c2sv.com.
