Follow on Google News | Tropical Tablelands Tourism Gears Up For Cycle Queensland AdventureMore than 700 cyclists will pedal their way onto the Atherton Tablelands over the coming days as they take part in one of the biggest cycling adventures in North Queensland.
By: Tropical Tablelands Tourism Tropical Tablelands Tourism (TTT) in partnership with Tablelands Regional Council has been working closely with BQ and local operators to develop a number of touring opportunities for the cyclists while they are in the region, which for the first time can be booked online. They will arrive in Millaa Millaa tomorrow afternoon before making their way to Yungaburra and enjoying a rest day on September 12. TTT chair and Member for Barron River Michael Trout said there had been strong interest in all the specially organised tours, which were developed by TTT including the sold out Waterfall and Crater Lakes Tour. “This is a perfect example of operators working together to get their product online through Bookeasy,” he added, “and demonstrates the possibility of future packages being developed for events or specials.” There were 19 different tour packages to choose from including a cultural and heritage experience with visits to Hoo Wang Temple and Herberton Historic Village, wildlife canoeing tours, food trail tours that offer a taste of the Tablelands, hot air ballooning as well as guided mountain biking adventures. The cyclists will depart Yungaburra on the 13th before making their way to Mareeba, then onto Mossman via Mt Molloy before finishing in Port Douglas.
