CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Sept. 9, 2013 - PRLog -- Ketchmore Kids hosts their annual “Stop The Violence” Day as proclaimed by former Mayor Anthony Foxx on October 26, 2013 from 5:00pm -7:00pm at Greenville Neighborhood Center located at 1330 Spring Street, Charlotte, NC 28206. Focusing on the strong needs for the community to join forces and create new avenues to make peace in the streets, this year’s Stop The Violence will focus on letting the youth speak by encouraging them to showcase their talent with a Youth Talent Showcase.

Since the early 90’s, so many people have lost their lives due to an enormous increase of senseless acts of violence. On October 26th, Ketchmore Kids will collaborate with Mothers of Murdered Offspring, The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Gang of One, Kazar Entertainment, iZiggy Promotions and more to bring awareness to these acts by delivering powerful performances through the 2013 “Stop The Violence” Youth Talent Showcase. Shining light on the positives that youth add to community, each of the performances will range from dancing, singing, poetry and more. “Too many people are losing their lives to senseless violence, especially our youth who have the opportunities to be successful and productive citizens”, says Chanell Ketchmore, Founder of Ketchmore Kids, who knows firsthand that this battle cannot be fought alone and she has never wavered on the journey of change for these communities.

Founded in Virginia in 1999, Ketchmore Kids has consistently engaged in community activism with their inaugural community event, “Let’s Save Our Youth”. Beyond fighting for the lives of the youth, their continuous movement to motivate individuals and groups to help effect changes in the community still lives on today.  By bringing together communities that face violence daily, Ms. Ketchmore wants the world to know exactly how these tragedies impact families by hosting video segments for them to be heard. “How Violence Has Impacted Me” is a dedication to their loved ones, but will also serve as a memorial and message to all. With so much love that will fill the room, this free family-friendly event will have prizes, contests, live entertainment, guest speakers and more.
